My experience here at Rutgers University has been an amazing experience! I have joined many clubs and organizations and that has helped build my experience as a student leader, but joining one particular organization has impacted my life very much.
When I was a sophomore in college I decided it was the right time to join a Greek organization. I looked around many organizations, and fell in love with Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. These women in the organization carried themselves with such elegance and made such a difference on campus, and I wanted to be part of something like that. I knew this organization was the one for me, and I became inducted into what I felt was the best organization.
Lambda Theta Alpha, has helped me grow and develop my leadership skills as an individual. By participating in programs, and charity works I have gained the confidence to be able to handle many things at once. Being surrounded by such hard working women has pushed me to want to better myself in every possible way. Having to fundraise, organize events, going to meetings has helped me so much when it comes to putting all these skills to practice.
Now as a senior, I get to utilize all the skills I have learned by being part of Lambda Theta Alpha, in my internship. I am currently a fashion retail/marketing intern at Liberty Fairs. One needs to be able to multitask and be able to keep up with the fast paced environment. Not only am I able to keep up with the staff, and all the work that is given to me, I am able to pitch ideas because I have experience in organizing events due to being part of my sorority.
I have gained a lifetime worth of skills and a lifetime worth of sisters that will always be by my side.
